SET THE COURSE
To collaborate with and assist the Women's Swim Design team. To participate in the research, design and development of swimwear and resortwear that is consistent with the seasonal direction.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
Design & Concept Development
- Assists VP of Swim, Sr. Designer, & Designer, to develop each season’s product line as well as any special developments.
- Participate in seasonal concept building and support design direction research.
- Provide support and communication in trim research and development.
- Assist designers with sketching, computer illustrations, and presentation documents using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Miro
- Create and maintain seasonal master palette and fills in Illustrator for sketches
- Create and maintain solid color chart by fabrication for development.
- Receive solid lab dips for all fabrications and provides color comments for vendor and maintain color comment tracking chart in smartsheet
- Create seasonal palette in FlexPLM, including print colorways, fabric & trim.
- Color Illustrator sketches in the seasonal palette for sketch review
- Create & update BOMs based on Drop Change Memo, fittings and TD/PD requests.
- Attend handoff meetings with TD to review development and help update BOMs
- Create & maintain tech files & provide images in the required format for the Linelist
- Create & maintain jpegs for FlexPLM & Nuorder
- Participation in product development meetings and fittings
- Daily communication with cross functional team (Including merchandising and wholesale partners), and vendors.
- Partner with Designer of Print, as needed, in effort to support key milestone deliverables.
- Assist in presentations and milestone meetings.
- Create and maintain fabric wall (virtual and physical) throughout the season with physical strike offs when available.
- Prepare samples/visual aids and assist with adoption and print & pattern meeting set-up.
- Create and maintain digital style boards for the season.
- Maintains design resources and materials such as fabrics, lab dip, trims, and sample references.
- Send, receive, and follow up on packages when requested
- Work to ensure all seasonal deadlines are being met
- Flexible for other duties as needed to help support calendar deliverables and overall business.
- Flexible for ad hoc project as needed.
- Fashion Degree in Fashion Design or related preferred
- Generally, 1 years women’s design experience
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator sketching and fills, Illustrator and Photoshop print creation, Miro, Bonus if some experience w/Ned Graphics and recoloring.
- Good communication skills (oral and written) - follow up and follow through
- Highly detail oriented
- Experience with the apparel design process from concept to product
- Self-starter and creative thinker who can track to short and long-term calendar deliverables
- Ability to follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to be a flexible partner and work together as one team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
