Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, including heavy machinery, construction equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our fleet and equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other construction machinery to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues through electrical diagnostics, mechanical inspections, and system testing to identify root causes swiftly.
- Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, power tools, and vehicle fleets including tire service, brake repair, suspension work, alignment adjustments, and HVAC systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and work orders accurately for accountability and future reference.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform heavy equipment operation when necessary to facilitate repairs or inspections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (soldering included), schematics reading, and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics efficiently.
- Experience servicing construction machinery maintenance including air brakes and tire service is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly in a fast-paced environment.
