Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and legal opinions.
- Assist in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Support attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and negotiations by organizing case files and evidence.
- Participate in client meetings and interviews to gather relevant information under supervision.
- Review and analyze legal documents related to family law, protective orders, litigation, landlord-tenant law and various other matters.
- Maintain accurate records of case progress and document management within the law office’s systems.
- Stay updated on evolving laws and regulations across multiple practice areas through ongoing research.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise legal drafts.
- Experience with legal administrative tasks including document review and case organization.
- Knowledge of diverse practice areas including family law, protective orders, litigation, landlord-tenant law and various other matters.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for complex legal issues.
