Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in criminal justice designed to help them explore a future career in law enforcement. Delivers rigorous instruction designed to fulfill the potential for the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of each student. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification Options:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
- Valid teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Two years of relevant work experience within the last ten years (military service can substitute for years of relevant work experience)
- Texas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
- Texas teacher certified “Vocational Trades and Industry / Trades and Industrial Education” in Law Enforcement Accepted to or have completed an approved educator preparation program
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or appropriate work approval in Criminal Justice/Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security industry. Two years of relevant work experience within the last ten years preferred.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
