Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated P4 / S4 Salvagnini Operator to join our manufacturing team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, a strong understanding of quality
systems, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Setup
- Set up and operate Salvagnini P4 panel benders and S4 punch/shear machines per production
requirements.
- Safely load and unload sheet metal materials.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings for accurate part production.
- Perform tool selection, adjustments, and basic programming edits as needed.
Quality & Documentation
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, micrometers, gauges)
- Identify, troubleshooting, and resolve quality issues, report deviations to supervisors and quality teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production, defects, and corrective actions.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, lubrication and minor maintenance.
- Promptly report any mechanical or operational issues to the supervisor.
Teamwork & Communication
- Monitor production flow and coordinate with upstream/downstream operations for efficiency.
- Maintain organized tooling, workstations, and material staging areas.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance safety, quality, machine utilization, and overall
productivity.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes.
- PPE required (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and basic quality inspection processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred
- Experience with Salvagnini, AMADA, Trumpf, or other CNC fabrication machinery.
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing and lean production environments.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming or software used with Salvagnini machines (e.g., SDD, S4CAM).
- Forklift or overhead crane operation certification.
