You will be entrusted to lead the shipping team, and serve as the liaison with other departments for any shipping-related issues. In addition, you will be tasked with streamlining our current shipping workflows, as well as devising new systems and processes to reduce manual work and errors, as well as increase overall efficiency. Strong computer skills are a must, as well as familiarity with computers and technology - you will be responsible for handling all software and hardware needs for the team. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels using UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager for both domestic and international shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments and external teams to resolve problems and streamline workflows
- Create drop ship templates and resolve all related electronic data import/export issues with UPS WorldShip and Fedex Ship Manager
- Troubleshoot all software and hardware related issues for the shipping team.
- Prepare call-tag/return shipping labels and arrange return pickups using UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager.
- Estimate and input accurate box dimensions for all packages.
- Calculate and declare correct package values based on goods.
- Ensure proper application of labels on respective boxes for shipment.
- Assist in loading boxes onto pallets and preparing goods for LTL/UPS/FedEx pickups.
- Accurately prepare documents for shipments involving lithium-ion batteries (Dangerous Goods).
- Generate daily shipping reports for accounting purposes.
- Stay up-to-date on all shipping regulations regarding lithium batteries and related items.
- Resolve any shipping issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Lead and manage all shipping team personnel.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency of UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager (2 years strongly preferred).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 lbs.
- Fast and accurate typing skills for data entry.
- Commitment to double-checking work for accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong mastery of general computer systems and operations.
