INTRODUCTION
In this role, you will lead critical accounting functions to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. You will oversee the revenue recognition, inventory cycle including bill of materials, manufacturing labor recapture and rates, inventory counts, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting, while supporting audits and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. You will also help drive process improvements, mentor accounting staff, and contribute to building robust and standardized financial practices. Through your work, you will play a key role in supporting leadership and driving the financial success of our La Mirada branch and the broader organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
- Manage the inventory cycle including the maintenance of Bill of Materials, inventory counts and adjustments. Ensures accuracy of Tomarco’ s companywide Inventory Valuation.
- Completes Monthly Revenue Recognition reporting, working with all Project Responsible personnel companywide to confirm Mobilized Billing, % Project Completion, Cost Tracking and True Up of revenue on completed Projects following GAAP Accounting.
- Reports Monthly Labor recapture for manufacturing operations and makes adjustments to Labor Rates and BOM’s to fully recapture labor monthly.
- Prepare, record, review and approve journal entries.
- Review, analyze and complete inventory and general ledger reconciliations.
- Review and analyze all transactions recorded within the general ledger to ensure validity, proper coding and accuracy.
- Perform and complete variance analysis.
- Coordinate and support financial and tax audits and filings.
- Support the proper maintenance of the general ledger, subledger and financial statement mapping.
- Support the production and preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Provide guidance to accounting staff.
- Generate and prepare reports as requested by management.
- Create documents for accounting standardization and organization purposes.
- Support the creation of policies and procedures
- Identify and suggest improvements for accounting processes.
- Provide support to the Controller and CFO.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field
- CPA or MBA is not required but a plus
- 5 years minimum Senior Accountant work experience
- Experience in the Manufacturing industry is desired but not required
- Experience with SAGE is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent computer skills
- Intermediate to Advance Level EXCEL skill is required (V-Lookup, Pivots, SUM IF formulas, etc.)
- Willingness to work a flexible work schedule with occasional long hours.
