Are you ready to bring your engineering expertise to a growing and dynamic team? TOMARCO Contract Specialties, in partnership with ISAT Total Support, is seeking a full-time Professional Civil/Structural Engineer to support our Custom Engineering Group.
This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, customized engineering solutions—primarily supporting the La Mirada Branch Service Area. You’ll work closely with our Engineering and Sales teams, contributing to diverse projects that blend technical excellence with client-focused service.

ABOUT US:
Tomarco Contractor Specialties, LLC dba ISAT, is a wholesale distributor within the construction industry with strategic manufacturing partners. Started in 1977, Tomarco designs, manufactures, and distributes non-structural engineering and design systems for construction applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough knowledge of ISAT’s Seismic Bracing Manual and understand seismic layouts and bracing. Assist layout crew with emergency layouts if necessary.
- Develop thorough knowledge of the pertinent sections of the following building codes: CBC, IBC, ASCE 7 with emphasis on Ch 13 Design of Non-Structural Components, ACI 318 with emphasis on Ch 17 Design of Concrete Anchors, AISI, NDS, AISC Steel provisions
- Possesses knowledge of following Computer Software: RISA-3D, Enercalc, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Anchor Design Software.
- Prepare Custom Engineering Packages, perform calculations, and assemble all pertinent information into a comprehensive and installer friendly professional stamped package.
- Prepare drafting and design support with an emphasis on details/designs that are constructible, presentable, accurately cross referenced.
- Take a Lead Role in Coordinating and Tasking Engineering Packages within the La Mirada Group: Assist the custom engineering director in tasking, coordinating, and driving the completion of ISAT engineering packages in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Interface with 3rd party reviewing entities including but not limited to project design teams, engineers, plan checkers/reviewers and local authorities.
- Support customers and sales staff with technical information and troubleshooting, based on the custom engineered package and/or ISAT Manual. Be a technical side support for each job you are involved with. Communicate directly with customer to resolve issues.
- Generate quotes for sales staff and assist with maximizing profits. Maintain document control and keep La Mirada Engineering Tracking Log updated and accurate.
- Perform job walks on construction sites to gain a better understanding of customer issues and gather information.
- Assist the Technical Support Group in ongoing development & improvement of technical support procedures and systems for the Southwestern ISAT operation.
- Seismic Bracing Design - Understand the engineering fundamentals behind the ISAT Seismic Bracing system and accurately design the seismic bracing for MEP layouts, as necessary.

- Advance your engineering skills in the areas of structural design, including statics, dynamics and steel and concrete codes.
- Develop customer relation and communication skills and perform presentations to contractors, general contractors, owners, inspectors, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or Structural(required)
- PE Civil License (required), SE license (preferred but not required)
- 3 years plus of engineering experience in seismic bracing, pipe support design, or custom fabrication
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards including IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISI, AISC, NDS, UFC
- Proficient in engineering software and tools including RISA-3D, Enercalc, MathCAD, AutoCAD (2D/3D), Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience preparing and assembling sealed engineering packages, technical drawings, and calculation reports
- Familiar with MEP systems, custom piping layouts, and restraint/support solutions for utilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and code compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and inspectors
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support field teams with real-time engineering solutions
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to technical support and project execution
