Position Summary
The Head Stocker is responsible for leading daily stocking operations to ensure merchandise is efficiently received, stocked, rotated, and displayed according to company standards. This role supports inventory accuracy, shelf availability, backroom organization, and provides direction to stocking team members while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Lead and coordinate daily stocking activities, including unloading deliveries, breaking down pallets, and stocking shelves
- Prioritize work assignments to ensure high‑volume and promotional items are stocked promptly
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring out‑of‑stocks, overstock, and backroom organization
- Ensure proper product rotation, date checking, and adherence to FIFO standards
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized sales floor and backroom areas
- Support planogram execution, resets, and seasonal transitions as directed
- Train and coach stockers on proper stocking techniques, safety practices, and productivity expectations
- Monitor labor efficiency and provide feedback to department or store leadership
- Assist with inventory counts, shrink prevention, and loss control procedures
- Communicate proactively with department managers regarding workload, delays, or inventory issues
- Uphold company policies, food safety standards (if applicable), and workplace safety requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One or more years of stocking, grocery, or retail operations experience preferred
- Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, reaching, and standing
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.
- For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
