Deli Manager

Purpose

The Service Deli Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Service Deli Department to achieve sales, margin, food quality, and customer service goals. This role ensures excellent food service execution, team development, and compliance with food safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Service Deli, including production, merchandising, and service
• Drive sales, gross margin, and shrink control through effective planning and execution
• Ensure high standards of food quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service
• Lead, train, schedule, coach, and develop deli associates
• Maintain full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Execute promotional programs, hot food programs, and pricing accuracy
• Control inventory levels, spoilage, and waste through proper handling and rotation
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, functionality, and department organization
• Partner with store leadership to support overall store performance goals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior deli, food service, or grocery department management experience required
• Knowledge of food safety standards and perishable inventory practices
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
