Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical components within HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment problems involving refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Utilize hand tools and welding equipment for system repairs and modifications as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
Skills
- Extensive construction experience with knowledge of building codes and safety standards.
- Proven service technician experience with a strong background in HVAC system repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems including refrigeration cycles and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of mechanical systems repair including boilers, pumps, fans, ductwork, and piping.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics related to HVAC systems using testing tools like ohmmeters.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC operations efficiently.
- Familiarity with plumbing procedures related to HVAC installations and repairs.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as
driver’s license preferred. - Ability to operate hand tools safely; welding skills are a plus.
- Mechanical or mechanic experience with appliance repair or property maintenance is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical systems in commercial or residential settings; familiarity with HVAC system installation processes is essential.
