Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating. Care, feeding, and watering of cattle (cow/calf and stocker) Assisting with calving, branding, vaccinating, tagging, sorting, and moving cattle. Cleaning and maintaining livestock facilities, corrals, and water systems. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. This includes ensuring water tanks and sources are full and clean during the heat of summer and that livestock have access to grass and supplemental feed/hay. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Provide protection from Flies, insects, and parasites by spraying livestock with disinfectants and insecticides, or dip or bathe animals. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle. Must speak and understand English.
