JOB SUMMARY: Tolles Career & Technical Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Instructor to join our instructional team. The Science Instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous science instruction that supports academic success and career readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in science education, a passion for teaching, and the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse student population.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach assigned science courses, fostering student understanding in areas such as anatomy and physiology, biology and environmental science.
Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals and career-tech pathways.
Use a variety of assessments to evaluate student performance and adapt instruction accordingly.
Support students with diverse academic needs, including those with IEPs and 504 Plans.
Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific literacy.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science instruction with career and technical education content.
Maintain accurate records and uphold school policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Incorporate technology and hands-on lab experiences to enhance instruction and student engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Ohio Department of Education license/certificate in Science Education (grades 7–12 or appropriate content area).
Clean criminal record suitable for public school employment.
Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
Familiarity with current instructional technology and best practices in science education.
Training and/or experience in classroom management and differentiated instruction.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a professional learning environment.
BENEFITS:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. (Salary range: $54,484.00 - $89,353.00)
189 day contract for first year new teachers; 185 days in subsequent contracts.
