Position Overview
TolHouse is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Associate to help keep our spaces safe, functional, and inviting. This role is ideal for someone handy and dependable—someone who enjoys problem-solving, staying active, and supporting a community-oriented environment. The position involves routine facility maintenance and general upkeep tasks, not large-scale construction or repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs (e.g., unclogging drains, tightening fixtures, replacing light bulbs, balancing tables).
- Move and set up furniture for events, meetings, and programming.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in storage and utility areas.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as salting steps, clearing walkways, and light outdoor upkeep.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address minor issues before they become larger problems.
- Support the TolHouse operations team in creating a seamless and safe environment for Members and staff.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or facility support preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks safely.
- Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage tasks efficiently without constant supervision.
- Good communication skills and a positive, community-minded attitude.
- Must be available 10–15 hours per week, with occasional flexibility for events or weather-related needs.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience.
