Core responsibilities

• Operate CNC burning equipment (plasma and oxygen) to meet customer specifications and quality targets
• Set up machines for optimal throughput and material yield without compromising quality
• Execute flame cutting procedures (oxygen/gas) on 1 3/8” to 10” plate
• Run CNC plasma on 1/8” to 1 1/4” material
• Read and interpret work orders; confirm requirements before cutting
• Verify material grade using the color-coding system
• Measure and validate tolerances using tape measure and calipers
• Troubleshoot issues; make routine adjustments to keep production on track
• Safely move material with forklift & overhead crane
• Complete all required pre- and post-shift preventive maintenance
• Maintain the cutting surface and a clean, organized workstation
• Adhere to all safety rules; take direction from Supervisors and Shift Leads
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; engineering-related certificate/diploma a plus
• 1–3 years’ experience operating basic CNC machinery
• Prior plasma, laser, or oxy cutting experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and clear communication
• Available for overtime, sometimes on short notice

Work environment and physical requirements

• Manufacturing shop setting with regular exposure to noise, chemicals, and industrial materials
• Physically demanding; lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
