Job Description
The Toledo Club is looking for an experienced Catering Director, who is a skilled, team player, effective communicator, able to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, high-volume environment. He/she will play an important leadership role in The Toledo Clubs Events Department. The Catering Director will assist members and outside customers, in planning special catered functions that meet their needs, maintaining the highest standards of quality, professionalism and prestige for all events. He/she will establish and maintain positive and professional business relationships with members, vendors and coworkers, effectively solving problems and handling complaints when necessary. A strong administrator, the Catering Director will ensure that standard operating procedures are consistently followed, including obtaining and completing all required paperwork and maintaining accurate records. The Catering Director will possess the ability to serve as a mentor, helping to ensure the team is delivering The Toledo Club service standards and that member and all customers satisfaction is achieved.
Responsibilities
- The Catering Event Manager (CEM) is responsible for procuring, planning and enabling successful events and programs at The Toledo Club venue to encourage repeat and referral business
- The CEM provides timely follow-up to all member, corporate, private, and social event inquiries, administers event proposals/quotes as necessary, presents sales contracts and works with the client to ensure all contractual elements are submitted
- This role manages multiple clients, leads the execution of all aspects of the written contract (agreement), serves as the client's prime contact, acting as a liaison between the customer and The Toledo Club to ensure that the client(s) event needs and expectations are met
- Leads the sales and planning process of external corporate, private and social retail events including client contracting, creation of banquet event orders (BEOs) and payment processing
- Networks inside and outside of The Toledo Club to obtain 'leads' and build trusting relationships with new and existing clients with a focus on providing excellent customer service
- Leads and manages the overall communication of event details and responds in a timely and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers
- Conducts pre-event meetings with client and internal staff, as necessary
- Utilizes event management system to prepare BEO (banquet event order) detail requirements for each event and communicates changes before and during events
- Responsible for synchronizing details across events and locations in order to leverage hospitality services such as menus, staffing and facility usage
- Participates in internal and external meetings required to achieve results, such as forecasting meetings, menu review, department meetings, BEO review meetings, pre-cons, operational department pre-shifts, etc
- Serves as Manager on Duty for member and private events, as appropriate, to provide event coordination and support to the operations team
- Coordinates post event action items, including processing final payments, post event communication and distribution of surveys
- Reviews customer survey results to track and share service trends, recognize positive feedback and works with operations leaders to continuously improve processes as warranted
- Maintains alignment with The Toledo Clubs corporate and business unit mission, vision, goals and standards
- Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel
- Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this role may also perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications

- 3 - 5yrs experience in the food & beverage industry
- 1 - 3yrs supervisory experience

Food Handlers Certificate, FSP certified, ASAP certified

Pay: $41,713.97 - $112,936.64 per year
