The Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Office is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (mostly administrative duties) to answer phones, handle incoming faxes, schedule appointments, prior auths, referral management along with clinical responsibilities when needed. This position is full-time and offers employee benefits. Hours are M-F (8:00-4:30) with no weekends, call, or holidays. Qualified candidates will have obtained their MA certification and the MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA).
The Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary
Assists with office operations by managing incoming and outgoing patient communication, scheduling patient appointments, managing prior authorizations, and preparing patient charts for providers.
Works under the supervision of the Physician(s).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
- Answer and manage incoming and outgoing patient communication.
- Manage scheduling of patient appointments.
- Manage incoming faxes.
- Prepare and organize patient charts for providers (i.e.: ensuring all necessary patient records/information is updated in patient chart prior to appointment).
- Manage prior authorizations for services and medications.
- Assist with prescription refills and referral management.
- Download diabetic patient status from Dexacom.
- Assist, as needed, with preparing exam rooms, sterilizing and preparing instruments, escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for providers.
- Assist providers, as needed, with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries, administering injections, etc.).

Education:
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
Preferred:
- Administrative and Clinical medical assisting experience.
