JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Specialist supports the Director of Finance by assisting with general accounting functions, including posting journal entries to the general ledger, reconciliations, and other accounts payable related tasks. This position also plays a key role in accounts receivables with a focus on credit and collections.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Record Maintenance: Prepares and maintains accurate financial records, journal entries, and ledgers
- Account Reconciliation: Performs regular account and bank reconciliations
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processes invoices and manages accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reporting and Analysis: Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including providing support for financial analysis and budgeting
- Audit Support: Provides assistance to internal and external auditors
- Credit/Collections: Enhanced A/R function, including customer credit analysis and delinquent account collection activities
- Collaborates with Operations, Sales and Customer Service to ensure timely order processing and accurate financial records
- Other accounting-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting
- Strong background in accounts receivables and collections preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and ERP (NetSuite a bonus!)
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
