Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and ensuring timely meal assembly
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in adherence to food safety standards
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety protocols during meal prep and service
- Help with food service operations, including plating meals and serving customers or residents as needed
- Support menu planning efforts by organizing ingredients and assisting with portion control
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in production areas, including sanitation and hazard prevention
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and handling procedures
- Experience with food industry operations such as restaurant or catering settings is a plus
- Demonstrated culinary experience including knife skills and slicing techniques
