Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements using reservation systems such as OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests and dietary needs are noted clearly.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales by recommending popular dishes, beverages, or specials.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and food safety standards to answer guest questions confidently.
- Monitor tables regularly to ensure guest satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments efficiently through POS systems, and manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation practices, and food preparation as needed to support kitchen staff and uphold sanitation standards.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing dishes and resetting tables quickly to accommodate incoming guests.
- Collaborate with team members including hosts/hostesses, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations during busy hours or special events such as nightlife or nightclub settings.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere by providing excellent guest relations and fostering positive interactions that encourage repeat visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous; basic math skills are essential for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse guests.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads (such as trays), and perform cleaning duties when necessary.
