This position is based at our Ozark, AR facility. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for four quarterly bonus incentives and an additional annual bonus tied to overall business performance. The standard schedule follows a 3-on, 3-off, 12-hour shift (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.); however, scheduling may vary based on operational needs.

Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of employees in one or more departments to meet company objectives for safety, quality, productivity, and costs. Depending on assignment, the supervisor may be responsible for certain off shift operations as well. The Production Supervisor is expected to be a champion for Tokai's Core Values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises all plant operations as assigned providing direction to Production Technicians according to established manufacturing specifications.
  • Ensures that all policies are followed.
  • Coordinates with other departments to assure proper product flow.
  • Training of new employees and training of all employees on new procedures.
  • Assure production targets are met by changing work schedules, splitting crews, assisting other departments, etc.
  • Responsible for plant operations during assigned shifts and may also include off shifts depending on assignment.
  • Notifies proper authorities of issues concerning production, schedules, quality or scrap problems.
  • Safeguards all company property and sees that all tools and equipment are in good operating condition and maintains work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems using facts and data.
  • Establishes and maintains daily metrics including determining root causes and appropriate corrective actions and/or countermeasures.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Gathers, computes, records and compiles data for production, near miss or accident reports.
  • Recommends measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew.
  • Attentive to plant environmental requirements ensuring compliance.
  • Verifies TPMs are performed and documentation completed.
  • Verifies completion of all pre-work inspections.
  • Covers for department manager in their absence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to four years manufacturing supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises up to 25 employees.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; drive a fork truck; work off ground level; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; bend/stoop, kneel, crouch/squat, or climb. The employee's work occasionally requires repetitive motion movements. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing greater than 50 pounds (examples are chains, tools, pipe, and other equipment, oil dry and stock skids) and occasionally reach above shoulder level moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally push/pull electrodes weighing from 2,500 to 5,500 pounds on the rail. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision. Requires contact (face-to-face, by telephone, radio or otherwise) with individuals or teams. Requires making decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization, co-workers, clients, or the company.
