As we continue expanding into new markets, we are seeking a proven operations leader to help scale our infrastructure, teams, and systems across multiple locations.
Position Summary
John to Go is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize company-wide operations across all branch locations. This role will be primarily based out of our New Jersey headquarters and will require regular travel to Florida, Utah, and future branch locations as the company continues to grow.
The Vice President of Operations will oversee operational strategy, logistics, fleet management, dispatch, field service execution, safety compliance, and overall operational performance. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on — capable of building scalable systems while also leading teams directly in the field and at branch locations.
This position will work closely with ownership and executive leadership to support aggressive growth initiatives, operational consistency, profitability, and long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead daily operations across service, dispatch, logistics, fleet, yard operations, and field teams
- Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, service quality, and profitability
- Standardize operating procedures and systems across all branch locations
- Build scalable operational infrastructure to support continued geographic expansion
- Establish KPIs, accountability structures, and performance reporting across departments
Multi-Branch Oversight
- Travel regularly to branch locations including Florida, Utah, and future expansion markets
- Support branch managers and operational leaders with staffing, training, execution, and performance improvement
- Ensure operational consistency and company standards across all markets
- Assist with branch launches, operational integrations, and growth initiatives
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, develop, and mentor operations managers, dispatchers, supervisors, drivers, and field personnel
- Create a culture of accountability, communication, safety, and continuous improvement
- Conduct leadership coaching, performance reviews, and operational training initiatives
- Improve organizational structure and operational workflows
Fleet & Logistics Management
- Oversee routing efficiency, fleet utilization, maintenance coordination, and service scheduling
- Partner with dispatch and field leadership to optimize productivity and minimize downtime
- Monitor operational costs including fuel, labor, repairs, and equipment utilization
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
- Lead safety initiatives, training programs, and incident reduction efforts
- Maintain operational documentation, reporting, and risk management procedures
Financial & Performance Oversight
- Manage operational budgets and cost controls
- Analyze operational and financial performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, labor efficiency, and customer retention
- Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, expansion planning, and operational investments
Customer Service & Execution
- Ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction across all branches
- Resolve escalated operational or service-related issues
- Support sales and customer success teams through strong operational execution and responsiveness
Qualifications
Required
- 10 years of operations leadership experience
- Proven experience managing multi-location service, logistics, transportation, or field operations
- Strong leadership and team development background
- Experience building operational systems, processes, and accountability structures
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, dispatch, routing, and field service management
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between branch locations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Preferred
- Experience in portable sanitation, waste management, construction services, environmental services, or related industries
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Experience with routing software, GPS systems, operational dashboards, and KPI reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred
Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
