About TOGA Technology

TOGA Technology is a technology solutions provider dedicated to helping our clients and teams achieve operational excellence through innovation, collaboration, and service. Our internal IT department plays a critical role in ensuring our employees have the tools, systems, and support they need to deliver results. We are proud to foster a culture built on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview

TOGA Technology seeks a Mid-Level Solution Architect to lead presales activities across the Southeast region, with primary responsibility for driving infrastructure, cloud, and FinOps solutions within our Advisory & Modernization (A&M) practice. This role requires a unique blend of technical presales expertise, field services experience, and the ability to actively drive sales team engagement—serving as both a technical consultant and sales catalyst.

This position will work closely with our Chief Solution Architect (Cory Martin) and the broader Presales team to deliver manufacturer-agnostic solutions that align to client business outcomes rather than vendor preferences. While the Southeast has historically been HPE-focused, this role demands multi-vendor fluency and the strategic judgment to position the right solution for each client scenario.

Key Responsibilities

Presales & Solution Design (60%)

  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, and proposal development for A&M opportunities in the Southeast region
  • Architect infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, FinOps optimization, and hybrid cloud solutions across multiple manufacturers (HPE, Dell, Cisco, Lenovo, etc.)
  • Deliver compelling customer presentations, technical demos, and executive-level business case presentations
  • Collaborate with sales teams to qualify opportunities, shape deal strategy, and drive technical win plans
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs with high-quality technical responses and competitive positioning
  • Partner with Chief Solution Architect on complex, multi-discipline opportunities requiring AI, security, or advanced cloud architecture

Sales Enablement & Account Engagement (25%)

  • Proactively drive sales team activity by identifying opportunities, creating account plans, and pushing for customer engagement
  • Conduct joint planning sessions with Account Executives to develop territory strategies and target account lists
  • Educate sales teams on solution capabilities, competitive differentiators, and vertical-specific use cases
  • Participate in customer meetings as a trusted technical advisor, building long-term relationships that generate pipeline
  • Hold sales teams accountable to engagement cadence and opportunity progression

Transition & Handoff (10%)

  • Participate in scoping and kickoff activities to ensure seamless handoff from presales to delivery
  • Leverage field services background to bridge the gap between "sold" and "delivered," anticipating implementation challenges
  • Provide technical input to project teams on complex installations or escalations

Continuous Learning & Collaboration (5%)

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and manufacturer roadmaps
  • Collaborate with Chief Solution Architect and peers to share best practices and refine solution methodologies
  • Participate in training, certifications, and enablement programs to expand technical breadth
  • Mentor Junior Solution Architects on technical and sales engagement best practices

Required Qualifications

Technical Experience

  • 5-7 years of combined experience in solution architecture, presales engineering, and/or field services roles
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure technologies: compute, storage, networking, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid/multi-cloud architectures
  • Exposure to FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization frameworks
  • Familiarity with multiple hardware manufacturers (HPE, Dell, Cisco, Lenovo, NetApp, Pure, etc.)—not just one vendor ecosystem
  • Understanding of data center design, refresh cycles, and lifecycle management

Presales & Sales Skills

  • Proven ability to lead technical sales cycles from discovery through close
  • Experience creating compelling proposals, technical presentations, and ROI/TCO business cases
  • Strong discovery and consultative questioning skills—able to uncover business drivers, not just technical requirements
  • Comfortable presenting to C-level executives and technical teams alike
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales team activity—not waiting for opportunities to come to you

Field Services Background

  • Practical implementation experience (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, project delivery)
  • Understanding of what it takes to successfully deploy and support the solutions being sold
  • Ability to identify potential delivery risks during the presales phase and proactively address them

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Bias for action—proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a learning environment
  • Willingness to travel (~30-40% within Southeast region)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managed services, MSP, or recurring revenue business models
  • Certifications in cloud (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect) or infrastructure (VCP, CCNA/CCNP)
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or modern data platforms
  • Background in professional services or consulting environments
  • Familiarity with pricing models, margin analysis, and deal profitability

Compensation & Incentive Structure

Base Salary

  • $80,000 - $95,000

Benefits

  • 16 paid days off and 10 paid holidays per year
  • Comprehensive benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401(k)

Why This Role Matters
