What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing position at Toews Asset Management?
The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Marketing to lead the planning and execution of our marketing programs, strengthen support for our Sales team, and coordinate the people, content, and systems that keep campaigns moving. We are looking for someone who can shape how the Toews story is told, develop compelling campaign ideas, and turn complex investment products into engaging content for financial advisors and institutions. This role combines marketing strategy with practical execution in a lean, collaborative organization. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects, working closely with leadership and Compliance, and using data and technology to improve results. The candidate will bring original ideas, strong writing skills, and sound visual judgment to help strengthen our brand and grow the business.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute original campaign concepts and plan multi-channel campaigns, including email programs, webinar promotions, social content, and product-related communications, connecting each campaign with a specific audience, message or business objective.
- Write, edit and oversee the development and maintenance of sales presentations, advisor-facing collateral, whitepapers, articles, and other marketing materials in coordination with investment and Sales teams. Translate investment expertise into compelling stories, useful education, and persuasive and accurate communications.
- Maintain and update creative direction for design, video, and digital content. Develop clear briefs and guide internal colleagues and external creative partners to produce distinctive, consistent work.
- Plan and lead in-person marketing events, including major events at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), industry conferences, advisor meetings, and partner events. Own event strategy, themes, budgets, venues, invitations, vendors, logistics, programming, attendee experience, coordination with executives and Sales, and post-event follow-up.
- Develop engaging topics and formats for webinars, quarterly broadcasts, and continuing-education programs, including promotion, presentation support, technology setup, compliance review, and follow-up communications.
- Set editorial priorities and manage marketing calendars, campaign timelines, assignments, external creative support, and day-to-day execution with marketing colleagues.
- Partner with Compliance early in content and campaign development for review and approval of advertising, website updates, presentations, and public communications.
- Use tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, website analytics, and campaign reporting to test messages and creative approaches, assess engagement and qualified lead generation, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead the content strategy and creative development of the website copy and content updates, press releases, videos, and social media publishing while maintaining a clear Toews voice.
- Partner with Sales to understand advisor needs, strengthen sales conversations, and develop communications that support existing relationships. Work with Operations and Technology to ensure effective lead-management workflows, marketing data quality, reporting, and appropriate use of automation and AI tools.
