Whether preparing drinks, handling transactions, or maintaining a clean environment, your proactive approach will keep our café running smoothly and joyfully. You will also assist with caring for the animals in the adoption cafe, processing animal adoptions and answering questions about our partner non-profit KAT Charities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their food and beverage selections in a prompt, friendly manner
- Operate POS systems such as Square or Toast to process orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare coffee beverages and light food items following established recipes and safety standards
- Manage cash handling, cashiering duties, and basic math calculations for transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and dining spaces
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling, preparation, and serving processes
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and upselling products when appropriate
- Assist with keeping cat cafe clean, animals fed, litter boxes scooped.
- Process animal adoptions
Qualifications
- Previous barista or coffee experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square or Toast is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and food industry calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in food preparation or food service roles is advantageous
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a busy café setting
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
