We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and flexible Assistant/Floater Teacher to support our Preschool and Private Pre-K classrooms, serving children 3 to 5 years old. This versatile role allows the teacher to provide support where it’s needed most—whether assisting in a specific classroom, covering for Lead or Assistant Teachers on their day off, or helping in both Preschool and Private Pre-K programs.
What You’ll Do
- Support Lead Teachers in planning and implementing The Creative Curriculum activities aligned with the Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines
- Assist in creating a nurturing, organized, and engaging environment for preschool and Private Pre-K children
- Float between classrooms as needed to support staff and maintain continuity of care
- Model age-appropriate social skills, problem solving, and positive peer interactions
- Help facilitate child-led learning experiences, school readiness skills, and early literacy/math development
- Greet families and maintain strong communication regarding children’s progress
- Support daily routines, including group activities, meals, and playtime
- Maintain a consistent schedule within our operating hours: Monday–Friday, 7:15am–5:30pm
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years childcare or teaching experience, preferably with preschool or Private Pre-K children
- Passion for early childhood education and supporting school readiness
- Comfortable working with children 3 to 5 years old
- Flexible, team-oriented, patient, and reliable
- Willing and able to complete a federal background check
Preferred Education
- CDA or ECE Degree preferred
- Level 5 MRTQ preferred
