Security Officer (Night Shift)

Title: Unarmed Security Guard

Location: City of Industry, CA

Provide security for the property and a safe environment for internal employment staff, as well as customers. This is an unarmed position, so the candidate MUST have exceptional people skills, and the ability to evaluate situations on the fly. The security officer must have the ability to control situations, and the ability to de-escalate situations with a calm, professional demeanor. The guard must have the ability to work solo and as a part of a team of guards. The guard will report directly to the security supervisor, and have a dotted line alignment to the internal facility manager for the shift. The guard will be responsible for periodic perimeter patrol, when there is not a second guard present on the shift. Guard must remain in compliance with local, state, federal, and BSIS regulations. The guard will be required to write incident reports, as needed. Use company provided radio communication to stay in contact with the internal staff and the secondary guard when applicable. Candidate must be highly self motivated and work vigilantly to maintain the high standard of security for this environment. Also, guard must contact local authorities when needed.

Shifts available:

Night Shift

Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting and standing. Typical physical demands standing, sitting down, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, and at times using reasonable physical contact in order to redirect customers away from the property. This is a non-exempt position, and scheduling would be based on business necessity and coordinated through the security supervisor. Ideal candidate should be available to work a flexible schedule, however, management works extremely hard to normalize days, so that week over week the scheduled days for the guard would be similar. This job description is not meant to encompass everything that is required in the job; and, guard may perform other duties as directed. Prior security experience is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must possess great people skills

Must be visible and attentive to prevent potential theft or criminal activity

Active Guard Card in good standing with BSIS or must be planning to get a guard card before the hiring process would be completed.

At least 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.04 - $18.50 per hour
