Position Overview
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Project Managers and design team to ensure smooth execution of residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects from start to finish. You’ll coordinate schedules, manage communication between clients, vendors, and field teams, assist with documentation and permits, and help keep projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has hands-on residential remodeling experience, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail and quality.
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Livermore, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in coordinating and executing kitchen and bath remodeling projects
- Assist with project scheduling, material procurement, and delivery coordination
- Communicate with homeowners, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure clarity and alignment
- Help track project progress, budgets, and timelines using project management software or spreadsheets
- Review and interpret design plans, specifications, and drawings
- Conduct site visits to assist with progress checks, quality control, and punch lists
- Help manage permits, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Assist in problem-solving construction and logistical issues as they arise
- Maintain organized project records, change orders, and communication logs
- Provide support to the field team as needed to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Uphold company standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction
Candidate Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in residential construction or remodeling (kitchen & bath experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and design plans
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-workflow environment
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic
- Ability to take direction, follow through on tasks, and work independently when needed
- Valid California Driver’s License and reliable, insured vehicle
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management preferred)
- Ability to pass a background and drug test
- Able to follow instructions and meet deadlines in a high-workflow environment.
- Familiarity with materials & finishes – countertops, cabinets, tile, plumbing and appliances etc.
- Take instructions and follow directions with limited interaction from Foremen and to see tasks completed correctly and timely
- General construction knowledge – plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, doors & windows etc.
- Assemble wooden components to fabricate useful structures such as cabinets and shelves
- Exhibit proficiency in finish carpentry and plumbing work, ie, installation of doors, cabinets, trim and crown
- Exhibit proficiency in and provide your own equipment / tools
- Ability to assess the useful life of tools and take precautions or action to maintain a safe work environment
- Good character – professional appearance, excellent oral and written communication, team player, strong work ethic
- Good communication skills, able to relay messages or problems to Carpenter Foreman. Communicate with homeowners in a professional manner
