Opening Kitchen Associate

FOOD PREP, FOOD SERVICE, & CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Position Summary:

The Deli Associate is responsible for organizing the stock, maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment, food prep areas, and storage areas, taking orders, pricing and packaging items, and preparing food for customers; including making sandwiches, pizzas, fried food, HMR meals, cut fruit, and specialty items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include:

• Learns about new deli items and menu options quickly
• Unloads daily deliveries and makes sure the deli display cases are organized and fully stocked with fresh food
• Uses portion scales, price guns, phones, and point-of-sale systems to take orders and price items
• Operates all deli equipment according to safety guidelines
• Cleans and sanitizes deli equipment and food surfaces, including meat and cheese slicers, deli display cases, ovens, grills, and utensils
• Assist customers in a professional and appropriate manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High School Diploma, GED preferred
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items
• Previous kitchen/restaurant experience strongly preferred
• High energy and stamina are required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
• Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively
• Strong verbal communication skills required
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
• Excellent customer service to treat patrons like family
• Ability to read menus, computer screens, safety documents, and other work-related documents
