Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and organized Host/Hostess to be the welcoming face of The Toasted Yolk. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and a natural ability to make guests feel at home from the moment they walk through the door. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for managing the flow of the dining room, coordinating seating arrangements, and supporting the service team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome every guest with a smile and friendly demeanor.
- Manage the waitlist, reservations, and seating chart to ensure an efficient flow of guests.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus promptly.
- Communicate accurate wait times and manage guest expectations during peak hours.
- Answer phone calls, take to-go orders when needed, and assist with inquiries about menu items or restaurant hours.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, entryway, and restrooms throughout the shift.
- Assist servers and bussers with resetting tables and refilling beverages as needed.
- Coordinate with management and servers to balance sections and maximize guest satisfaction.
- Uphold Toasted Yolk’s standards of hospitality and service excellence at all times.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, outgoing personality.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor; punctual and reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during busy service hours.
- Basic computer or POS system knowledge (OpenTable or similar reservation systems preferred).
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and mornings as required in a breakfast/brunch setting.
