Position Overview: Toast Media Group is looking for a Senior Social Video Manager to lead social-first video across our roster of brand clients. If you’re an idea machine who lives and breathes the formats, trends, and storytelling styles that make people stop scrolling, this role is for you.
We’re searching for someone who knows when a brand should jump into a trend—and when it’s smarter to sit one out. Someone who can build brand-defining, episodic video series that feel sticky, engaging, and worth coming back for. Someone who’s equal parts creative visionary, hands-on producer, and strategic communicator.
This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role embedded in a collaborative team that includes strategy, influencer/partnerships, paid, and creative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Concept & Strategy
- Lead social video ideation for brand clients across TikTok, Reels, YouTube and LinkedIn.
- Develop episodic concepts, series formats, and content pillars that build brand affinity and drive performance.
- Identify cultural moments, emerging formats, and platform trends—and recommend when to engage or pass.
- Collaborate with Social Media Strategists to ensure video content ladders up to each client’s broader brand and marketing goals.
Pre-Production Production
- Build shot lists, scripts, treatments, storyboards, and production plans.
- Work with our Influencer & Partnerships team to cast creators or talent, when needed.
- Lead on-set direction (studio street), ensuring content is social-native, engaging, and on-brand.
- Be comfortable appearing on camera when needed for brand videos or creator-style content.
Post-production
- Edit short-form content using platform-native best practices (cuts, pacing, hooks, captions, sound).
- Guide editors and freelancers when needed, ensuring consistency and quality across all outputs.
- Continuously analyze performance and optimize creative approaches.
Client Internal Communication
- Present concepts, explain rationale, and articulate best practices to clients.
- Manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables across internal teams.
- Maintain a pulse on social storytelling.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years creating social-first video, ideally at a creative agency, production company, or in-house brand team.
- Strong portfolio of TikTok/Reels/short-form work (episodic or branded content preferred).
- Proficiency shooting on iPhone and mirrorless cameras; strong understanding of lighting composition.
- Proficiency in editing tools (Premiere, CapCut, etc.).
- NYC-based and able to work from our Brooklyn office/studio at least 3 days/week.
- Comfortable being on set, in the field, and occasionally on camera.
