About the Role
To The Rescue is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Day Program. This role focuses on helping individuals build independence, social skills, and life skills while participating in meaningful daily activities.
Our program includes group games, crafts, learning activities, and community outings like parks, museums, and volunteer opportunities. No two days look exactly the same, but every day you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, positive environment where people can learn, grow, and have fun.

Key Responsibilities
Participant Support & Daily Care
Provide supervision and support to program participants throughout the day
Assist individuals with personal care needs such as restroom use and meals
Help participants practice daily living skills that promote independence
Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals served
Activity Leadership & Engagement
Lead group activities such as games, crafts, discussions, and educational lessons
Facilitate activities that support life skills, communication, and social development
Encourage participation and positive social interactions among participants
Support community outings including parks, museums, volunteer sites, and recreational activities
Documentation & Communication
Complete daily service documentation and provider notes
Track attendance and assist with participant check-in and check-out
Report incidents or concerns to the Day Program Manager or leadership team
Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure quality support
Transportation & Community Access
Transport participants to community activities using agency vehicles when needed
Support participants during outings and ensure safety in community environments

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under agency vehicle policy
Willingness to drive agency vehicles (including vans and larger passenger vehicles)
Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and medication administration training (provided if needed)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and remain active throughout the workday
Occasional lifting, transferring, or assisting individuals up to 80 lbs with proper support techniques
Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care tasks
Work Environment
This position includes both facility-based activities and community outings. You may work in program spaces, outdoor environments, community locations, and vehicles while supporting participants.
