TITLE: Nutritional Services - General Cafeteria, Day-To-Day Substitute
REPORTS TO : Cafeteria Manager
AVAILABLE: ASAP
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As Needed (student days only) Salary in accordance with the Nutritional Services Collective Bargaining Agreement.
DESCRIPTION: Part-time positions available to assist with preparing and serving meals, dishwashing, cashiering and general cafeteria/kitchen cleaning. Mid-morning to mid-afternoon hours. Ideal for individuals with school-age children
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION : The nutritional services cafeteria worker is essential in the preparation and delivery of nutritious and cost effective meals to students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of food in accordance with food preparation, food service, sanitation and safety guidelines and regulations.
- Ensure that food temperature, serving techniques and service portions are in accordance with the Department of Nutritional Services rules, regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in the cleaning of all Nutritional Services facilities, including, but not limited to, wiping down tables at the direction of the School Cafeteria Manager
- Maintain a positive attitude and emphasize teamwork to accomplish building department and district goals.
- Recognize problems that may arise in the delivery of food and work with the School Cafeteria Manager to devise creative and resourceful solutions.
- Operate Point of Sale(POS) computer, accept money and make change for all students and staff members purchasing meals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Excellent personal hygiene.
- Must be able to push and/or pull 25 pounds and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Prior experience in the Food Services industry preferred
