Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines.
Supervises: N/A
Essential Job Functions:
· Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems.
· Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor instructions.
· Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
· Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy required.
· Tags all parts required to follow warranty procedure.
· Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
· Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
· Follows safety procedures.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Preferred Education:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· Technical training education
Preferred Experience:
· One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 6 month to one year welding and fabricating experience- desired
Other Preferred Qualifications:
· CDL License
· ASE certification a plus
· Freightliner certification
· Welding and Fabricating certifications
