Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including carburetor issues, ignition problems, and mechanical failures
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and belt adjustments
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools
- Repair and service power generation systems, including generators and other heavy equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical devices to complete repairs
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify root causes of malfunctions efficiently
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background with small engine repair expertise
- Strong mechanical knowledge of engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Experience with diesel engine repair and automotive repair is highly desirable
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, electrical work, soldering, welding, and electrical system troubleshooting
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, power generation systems, and equipment maintenance procedures
- Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling safely in a busy workshop environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of small engine maintenance practices for various outdoor power tools and equipment
- ATV repair is a plus.
