What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at TNT Excavation Inc?
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team supporting energy industry operations. This role includes a mix of physical labor and equipment operation. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate a variety of large-scale heavy equipment to support excavation, material handling, site preparation, and reclamation activities.
Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to:
- Excavators (various sizes)
- Bulldozers
- Haul Trucks (rigid and articulated)
- Skid Steers
- Compactors / Rollers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment in mining, oil & gas, or heavy civil construction
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred for some positions)
- OSHA 10 or ability to obtain
- MSHA certification (Part 48 or 46) or ability to obtain
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in energy extraction industries
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and blueprints
- Good spatial awareness and depth perception
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote locations
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 50 lbs, bending, climbing in/out of equipment cabs, and standing or sitting for extended periods.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
