Job Summary
The Corporate Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role within the Asset Management Team. This position ensures that all parts and inventory items across all TNT locations are properly identified, stored, and accessible based on our organizational inventory cycle.
You will be responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels to support preventive maintenance and repair of company-owned vehicles, heavy equipment, small machinery, and specialized assets.
Travel is required as part of this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Train Inventory Control and Parts staff across all branches on relevant systems and software applications.
- Maintain accuracy across all inventory management systems.
- Oversee timely completion and updates of cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Collaborate with managers to deliver constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to proper procurement processes and platforms.
- Generate and present reports as requested by Senior Leadership.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily inventory analysis and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee and correct stock item master data, including descriptions and stock numbers.
- Research, identify, and order necessary parts/equipment for Fleet and Maintenance teams.
- Investigate and correct mislabeled or misplaced inventory items.
- Communicate with branches regarding new items, relocations, and count adjustments.
- Create purchase orders based on vendor quotes.
- Ensure proper application of Core Credits.
- Maintain strict document control and accurate data entry.
- Assist with housekeeping and organization within parts storage areas.
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack as needed.
- Manage waste disposal processes (tires, oil, coolant, etc.) and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Perform additional asset-related duties as assigned.
- Support all asset management data entry functions.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask across multiple software platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of inventory procedures and best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management (required).
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
- Associate’s degree or higher in a business-related field (preferred).
- Experience with Fleet Cost & Care, SmartEquip, TMT, Oracle, MOAB (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of desk/computer work.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
