Montessori Substitute / Independent Contractor (Early Childhood)
Flexible Schedule | Part-Time / On-Call | Ages 6 Weeks – 6 Years
We are looking for dependable, caring substitute teachers / independent contractors to support our Montessori classrooms on an as-needed basis at Guidepost Montessori at Round Rock! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values a calm learning environment, and can step into multiple classrooms when coverage is needed.
Your Role
- Provide coverage in Montessori classrooms (infant through preschool) when staff are absent
- Assist with daily classroom routines including meals, toileting, rest periods, and transitions
- Support lead guides while maintaining calm, prepared classroom environments
- Model respectful, professional interactions with children, staff, and families
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Ability to pass a state-required background check
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with young children (Montessori experience preferred, but not required)
- Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to different classrooms and age groups
- Warm, patient, and team-oriented demeanor
Optional / Preferred
- Previous Montessori or early childhood classroom experience
- Interest in gaining Montessori training
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly pay: Competitive, based on experience
- Flexible, on-call schedule (substitute as needed)
- Independent contractor status; schedule varies based on classroom needs
