What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - 3rd shift position at TN Michigan LLC?
The Maintenance Technician is required to keep all plant equipment operating in a safe and efficient manner. This includes all hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment as well as all of the plant support systems, including but not limited to the compressed air system, all HVAC, and air quality systems fluid filtration system. This person must demonstrate good trouble shooting skills, must be able to work independently as well as in groups. This person is expected to be available and willing to work any shift that may be required. This person is expected not to leave a mess behind when the work is completed. Must be efficient with hand and measuring tools. Must have own mechanic tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Maintain Plant equipment.
o Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
o Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
o Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
o Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
o Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
o Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
o Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
o Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
o Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Ø Maintain an efficient inventory of spare parts and supplies to prevent unnecessary downtime, as directed by the plant management.
Ø Maintain and Report the proper maintenance activities and time in the computer system.
Ø Perform other activities as assigned.
Ø Maintain work area and equipment
o Clean and orderly work area keep area clean and free of safety hazards. Report or correct all safety hazards.
o Follow company policies and workplace organization.
o Follow established Kan-ban system.
