Machine Operator - Mountain City, TN

This posting is to capture interest in a general machine operator role. As positions become open, applicants will be considered for available opportunities.

SUMMARY

May set up and/or operate machines such as lappers, grinders, heat treat furnace, flashers, and other similarly classed machines associated with the production of precision balls and/or rollers by performing the following duties. While the essential duties and responsibilities are similar in nature and require similarly classed skills, it is noteworthy that not all operators are required to be trained and/or skilled on every machine to perform as a competent machine operator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

• May be required to read blueprints and/or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances.  These specifications may include instructions such as feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and sequence of operations.
• Moves controls to engage operation of assigned machine and product to set specified feeds, speeds, length of cycle, and depth of cut.
• May set up fixture or feeding device, starts machine and monitors operation to produce acceptable results.
• May monitor flow of coolant, solvent, and/or other chemical to produce acceptable results.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of product to specifications.
• May be responsible for maintenance of tools required to perform duties assigned.
• May set up and operate machines and equipment other than production machinery such as brazing, heating or flame-cutting equipment.
