Job Description
TMZ Sports is looking for an experienced, motivated Senior Producer to join our news operation. The ideal candidate is someone with an interest in sports and pop culture who can report and write web posts multiple times a day on a deadline. The candidate will be responsible for pitching and pursuing original story ideas daily, contacting sources, finding assets (photos, videos) and ultimately submitting for publication. In addition, the role also requires a basic knowledge of the legal system, and the ability to access information and/or records through police departments and courts. This position is based out of Playa Vista, CA.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $96,200.00-101,400.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities
- Write stories for TMZSports.com
- Ability to navigate sports and entertainment news, analyze content, and recognize relevant stories
- Maintain and develop contacts to aid in the news-gathering process
- Request legal documents/materials from police and courts
- Stay up to date with trending national and international news
- Generate original news angles
- 3 years of experience working in a newsroom environment as writer and/or reporter
- Genuine interest in, and knowledge of sports, pop culture and news
- Basic knowledge of criminal and civil court proceedings, including the ability to obtain pertinent records from police and courts
- Ability to enterprise news stories
- Work effectively under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
