Job Title: Manual QA Tester (Strong SQL)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester with strong SQL expertise to join our team in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manual testing along with the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and backend testing. This is a fully onsite role requiring close collaboration with development and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual testing of web and/or enterprise applications.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Conduct backend/database testing using SQL queries.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, aggregations) for data validation.
- Validate data integrity between UI and database.
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA or similar.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Participate in test planning, test execution, and defect triage meetings.
- Ensure quality standards and best practices are followed throughout the SDLC.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Manual Testing / QA.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL coding (must-have).
- Experience in database testing and data validation.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (joins, stored procedures, functions).
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
- Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman/SoapUI) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of automation is a plus (not required).
