Duties
- Operate airless paint spraying equipment, including spray guns and automated systems, to apply coatings accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by performing surface preparation tasks such as sanding, cleaning, and masking using hand tools and power tools.
- Mix paints, powders, and coatings according to specified formulas while maintaining proper safety procedures.
- Monitor spray booth conditions, including airflow and temperature, to ensure optimal application environments.
- Use precision measuring instruments and visual color comparison techniques to verify color matches and coating thicknesses.
- Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, including respirator use, respiratory protection, and PPE such as gloves and safety glasses.
- Handle materials safely within warehouse or fabrication settings using forklifts or cranes when necessary for materials handling or moving finished parts.
- Conduct routine maintenance on spray equipment to ensure consistent performance and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining quality standards in production.
Experience
- Prior experience operating industrial painting equipment, including airless sprayers or powder coating systems, is highly preferred but not necessary.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Warehouse experience involving materials handling with forklifts or cranes enhances operational versatility.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols, including PPE use is essential for a safe work environment.
