Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team at our Tuscaloosa, AL site. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding and fabricating steel and be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing team in the steel industry, where you will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel components for various projects.

Pay: $30-$40 depending on experience

Schedule: Dayshift M-F 40-50 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel materials according to blueprints and specifications.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, and other equipment used in steel fabrication.
• Ensure quality of welds and fabrications by adhering to industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation of welding equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding program or technical training is preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in a steel mill or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of welding materials and their properties.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
• Good communication skills and a strong team player.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying positions.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in steel mill operations.
• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Experience with CNC plasma cutting or other automated systems.
