Position: Burner/Torch Cutter

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Location: New Castle, PA

Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Cutting & Burning: Operate oxy-acetylene torches and plasma cutters to precisely cut and shape steel products as required.
• Inspection & Preparation: Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and are ready for further processing.
• Lancing: Use high-pressure air lances to clean slag, scale, and debris from steel surfaces, ensuring they are free from imperfections.
• Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines in a high-risk environment.
• Maintenance & Equipment Care: Maintain and troubleshoot cutting and lancing tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals and ensure smooth operations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, equipment maintenance, and work completed.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Burner, Lancer, or in a similar role within a manufacturing or steel mill environment.
• Proficient in operating oxy-acetylene torches, plasma cutters, and high-pressure air lances.
• Strong understanding of metal types, steel alloys, and cutting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and equipment in a steel mill setting.
• Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment screenings
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
