We are looking for a Blend Operator at our Gary, IN location.
Pay: $19 - $20 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of scrap blending
- Coordinate heat orders with crane operators
- Communication with yard operators, drivers, and Production Managers
- Fill out charge paperwork daily
- Understanding what scraps to be used for the different chemistry heats
- Scheduling and performing scale tests
- Corresponding with USS melters regarding heat orders
- Obtain knowledge of scrap processing
- Obtain knowledge of different types of scrap
- Participate in the Corporate Quality Program as required
- Follow all safety, environmental and other compliance rules and policies
Qualifications
- Basic mathematical skills
- Legible penmanship
- Ability to work independently with very little supervision at a fast pace
- Good computer skills
- Good communication skills and positive attitude
- Problem solving and decision-making capability
