What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant position at TMS Eyecare?
We are seeking an Optometric Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. As well has making sure our patients are receiving the best care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing patients for medical procedures.
- Measure visual acuities
- Perform preliminary screening tests
- Perform administrative tasks associated with assisting an optometrist.
- Dispense prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses to patients.
- Perform administrative work for the optometrist including but not limited to creating records; updating patient files; making photocopies and filing documents.
- Clean examination rooms, patient waiting area, and storage areas; stock examination room with necessary materials.
- Adjust and dispense glasses
- Answering and making phone calls
- Scheduling
- Assist in providing excellent patient care to the patients during their visit
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable with multi-line phone systems and scheduling software
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., EHR systems, MS Office)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to gain more knowledge about the industry
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
