We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist specializing in psychological testing and comprehensive evaluation. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, scoring, interpreting, and reporting on a wide range of psychological assessments for diverse populations across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults). This role is essential in providing accurate diagnostic clarity and contributing to effective treatment planning within our multidisciplinary practice.
ResponsibilitiesAssessment and Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including diagnostic interviews, clinical observations, and selection of appropriate assessment instruments based on referral questions.
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological tests, including measures of intelligence/cognitive ability, academic achievement, attention/executive function, personality (projective and objective), psychopathology, and specific diagnostic screens (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities).
- Synthesize assessment data, clinical history, and collateral information into well-written, integrated, and empirically-supported psychological reports.
- Formulate differential diagnoses according to the latest edition of the DSM/ICD criteria.
Consultation and Communication
- Provide timely, clear, and sensitive feedback sessions to clients/patients and their families regarding assessment results and recommendations.
- Consult and collaborate effectively with internal clinical staff (psychiatrists, therapists, social workers) and external professionals (schools, physicians, legal counsel) as necessary to coordinate care.
- Respond to referral sources with comprehensive reports and verbal summaries outlining findings and practical, evidence-based recommendations for treatment, academic accommodations, and support services.
Professional Standards and Development
- Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records in compliance with ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and state licensing board requirements.
- Stay current with the latest research, test developments, and best practices in psychological assessment.
- Participate in regular case conferences, peer review, and continuous professional development activities.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical codes regarding testing security, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
QualificationsRequired
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited doctoral program.
- Completion of an APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
- Current, unrestricted license as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of New York and/or New Jersey.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience conducting full psychological batteries.
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering and interpreting a wide range of assessment tools (e.g., WAIS, WISC, MMPI, Rorschach, ADOS-2, various neuropsychological screeners).
Preferred
- Experience in a specialized setting (e.g., neuropsychology, forensic psychology, pediatric psychology).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
