Office Assistant and Shipping/Receiving Associate

We are seeking a Office Assistant / Shipping & Receiving Associate. In this role, you will oversee the management of parts inventory, handle all shipping and receiving activities, and process customer orders for our automated equipment components.
Job Description:
- Office Assistant supports daily operations by handling clerical tasks like answering phones, managing mail, scheduling, and maintaining supplies, ensuring smooth office flow.
- Strong organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and experience in high-volume inventory environments. Experience in electrical wholesale is highly preferred, as it aligns with our part numbering systems and technical components.
- Manage daily shipping and receiving operations, including unloading deliveries, inspecting shipments for accuracy and damage, and distributing materials to appropriate departments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for parts and supplies using inventory management software; conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure stock levels support production and customer needs.
- Process customer orders efficiently: Pick, pack, and prepare parts for shipment while verifying part numbers, quantities, and specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to resolve discrepancies, track orders, and optimize delivery schedules.
- Provide customer service by responding to inquiries, assisting with order status updates, and recommending suitable parts based on equipment needs.
- Collaborate with service department to forecast inventory needs and minimize downtime due to stock shortages.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, proper labeling, and documentation for all shipments.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in parts department operations, inventory management, or shipping/receiving roles.
- Proven customer service experience, with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in inventory software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Experience in electrical wholesale or distribution, including familiarity with part numbering formats (e.g., SKUs for electrical components like conduits, fittings, and controls).
- Knowledge of automated equipment parts or industrial packaging systems.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
Salary:
$20-$26/hour based on experience
2 weeks paid vacation paid holidays
