JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Attendance Officer Position Type: Full-time
Department: Administration Classification: Non-exempt
Reports To: Student Office Manager
Job Summary
TMI is seeking a full-time Attendance Officer commencing in June 2023. The position requires working with the
community at-large, including parents, students, faculty, and staff. Successful candidates will have excellent
administration skills, outstanding communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work
well within a team environment. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two to four years in a secretarial school
position working closely with students, parents, faculty, and staff. The Attendance Officer will report directly to
the Student Office Manager
Essential Job Duties
- Oversight of all aspects of daily student attendance.
- Compile daily/bi-weekly reports.
- Working directly with teachers, parents, and students regarding attendance
- In charge of securing substitutes for absent teachers
- General Student Office duties
- Fulfilling additional duties assigned
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of school attendance/administration systems.
- Interact daily with students, parents, faculty and staff, demonstrating broad understanding,
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work independently.
- High attention to detail along with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, be honest and reliable.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Be proactive and work ahead to achieve deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Able to control emotions in stressful situations.
- Expertise in Windows, Google, and database software
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation
- Maintain general office productivity by ensuring all supplies/machines/materials are stocked and
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two to four years in a secretarial school position working closely with students, parents, faculty
and staff.
